Call for participation International Workshop: 'Electronic Platform for the Comparative Analysis of Folktales' 17-18 December, 2012 Tbilisi, Georgia
The Folklore Archive of the Rustaveli
Institute of Georgian Literature of the Tbilisi State University has been
realizing the project of the Georgian Rustaveli National Science Fundation - “Electronic Platform for
the Comparative Analysis of the Georgian Folk Prose” since 2009. In the frame
of the project was created a software which makes possible to analyze
Folk Prose ( mainly Folktales ) typologically. As most of the folktales are of international type the software is aimed at the international use and as a research
instrument is accessible for everybody.
The authors and the users of the software and
database are planning to introduce the
results of the project to the broad society.
The objectives of the workshop are :
to introduce the essence of the given
method of the international analysis of
the folktales;
to demonstrate the possibility of the software and the significance of the effect received during the use on the
international level;
to discuss the alternative proposals and remarks for the
future development of the software;
to promote establishmet of the
international scientific network on the basis of the software.
The meeting will be held on Monday, December 17th and on Tuesday, December 18th, 2012 in Tbilisi. About the place of the
meeting the participants will be informed later.
Working languages of the meeting are Georgian,
English, German.
